Lunch Time!

by Aimless

The enticing aromas drifting from the kitchen pulled Michel in as if an invisible string was attached to his naval. Something simmered on the stove attended by Ken wearing his favorite apron. He busily chopped something green and slid it into the pot.

Then Michel watched as his friend opened the oven and peered inside. Ken made a satisfied sound and closed the oven door. Michel sidled closer, he couldn’t help it. There had been virtually nothing to eat in the refrigerator earlier and he’d had to make due with glazed donuts and chocolate syrup for breakfast.

Now lunch time rapidly approached and he was starving.

“Hey what are you cooking?”

“GAH!!!” Ken whirled around in a fighting stance looking rather ridiculous wielding a wooden spoon.

“Gee time to switch to decaf Ken.” Michel giggled as he eyed the spoon of doom.

“Don’t sneak up on me! I’m making lunch.” Ken huffed, embarrassed to be caught so off guard.

“I know you’re making lunch. What is cooking? I’m starving to death. Can I have a taste?” Michel tried to edge around Ken but the ex-goalie blocked his advance.

“Something I saw on a cooking show. You had a huge breakfast and can’t be starving. No you can’t its not done yet.” Then he turned back to give the pot another stir before putting the lid on it.

“Come on tell me what’s for lunch. Is it a surprise? It’s not octopus or something weird is it?” Michel really hoped it wasn’t some Japanese concoction. They had the strangest ideas about food.

“No it’s not octopus…really you have some odd ideas Michel. There’s cornbread baking in the oven and I made some soup.” Ken sighed. Maybe he could offer Michel one of his chocolate chunk cookies he kept hidden. Maybe then the chibi would let him cook in peace.

“But what’s in the pot? It smells really good. What kind of soup is it? Huh? Huh? What kind?” Michel fairly bounced around behind Ken as he pestered him.

Ken sighed. He knew defeat when he heard it. Michel would never leave until he told him what was in the pot. He mumbled something and peered into the oven again.

“What? I didn’t hear you. Say it again.” Michel handed Ken an oven mitt as he lifted the pan of lightly golden brown cornbread from then oven. He set in on one side of the stove and turned off the oven.

Ken rolled his eyes and barely audibly repeated himself.

“Ken….I can’t hear youuuuu…” Michel whined.

Exasperated beyond his limit Ken flushed bright red and yelled.

“Ok laugh all you want. It’s cock a leekie! Ok? COCK A LEEKIE! COCK A LEEKIE!”

At that moment Chloe strolled into the kitchen. He saw Ken red faced and yelling. He sidled up to his lover and wrapped his arms around the yelling brunet.

“Ken dear if you are that horny all you had to do was ask.” Chloe replied with a lascivious wink.

Ken sank his head to the counter top with a thunk and groaned. Then thunked his head against the butcher block once more for emphasis.

Chloe looked at his lover in confusion and turned to Michel for an explanation. None was forthcoming however since the chibi in question was rolling on the floor laughing hysterically.

Really, Chloe thought with a sniff, it was just too weird around here sometimes. Maybe he’d go and see what Aya was doing.
